With the beginning of a new year, our company is delighted to share positive updates on the progress of our international projects. On January 17, local time, schools 001, 014, and 025 of the Project of Constructing a Group of Schools in Iraq were officially transferred to the property owners, marking the initial batch of schools handed over out of the 52 constructed by the company in Missan Province. Nazim, Deputy Secretary-General of the Iraqi Cabinet Secretariat and Project Manager for the Iraqi Demonstration Schools, personally observed the handover ceremony and highly praised the outstanding performance capabilities of our project execution team.
The Iraqi Demonstration School Project is a crucial initiative in Iraq, with significant strategic importance for improving the local educational infrastructure. The initial phase of the Demonstration School Project aims to build 1,000 schools, with the Power Construction Corporation of China responsible for constructing 679 of them. The main tasks of the project include the construction of main building, structure, water and electricity, decoration and renovation of the schools. In addition, the schools being handed over this time are all 24B (high school level), with a three-story structure and a total area of 4,306.99 square meters, expected to accommodate 720 students upon completion.
Up to now, our company has completed the main structure of 47 out of 52 schools in Maysan Province, with the remaining 5 scheduled for completion before the Spring Festival. The subsequent tasks including masonry, plastering, and interior decoration are progressing smoothly. All 52 schools are targeted for completion and handover by August 2024.
