On the morning of October 13th local time, SEPCO and Saudi Aramco formally signed an engine workshop EPC project contract valued at about 400 million US dollars, signifying yet another partnership between the two parties following the previous four cooperation projects. PowerChina's country representative in Saudi Arabia Zhu Jing, Deputy General Manager of SEPCO Ren Yuanbo, and engine workshop project manager Dong Shibiao attended the contract-signing ceremony.
As one of the key projects of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030,” the Saudi Aramco engine workshop project is also a core supporting endeavor of the King Abdullah Port Project. Upon completion, it will constitute the largest engine and marine pump manufacturing and assembly plant in Saudi Arabia and even the entire Middle East, facilitating the area in improving the stability and localization rate of the marine industrial supply chain. The project is located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, adjacent to the King Abdullah Port Project. Strictly adhering to Saudi Aramco corporate standards, Saudi national standards and certain international norms, this project is considered a high-end endeavor in the international infrastructure market. Main structures of this project include engine assembly workshop, marine pump assembly workshop and more than ten ancillary service buildings. The primary function of the project is to assemble and produce industrial ship propulsion systems and marine pumps.
The signing of this contract is a dynamic implementation of the SEPCO's "14th Five-Year Plan" and "1244" strategy, and also another fruitful achievement of the company’s perseverance in international development and deep cultivation of the market of the Middle East.
