DATE:2018-04-19

POWERCHINA and Xinjiang Goldwind Sci&Tech Co signed a series of agreements about a wind power project in Sydney, Australia, which signify the official start of the Cattle Hill Wind Farm development project in Tasmania.

The wind power plant is located at the central highland of Tasmania. POWERCHINA plans to build 48 wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 147.5 MW. Upon its completion, it will be the biggest wind power plant in Tasmania, generating 440 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year.

Australia is rich in wind power resources and has great development potential. This project will promote the development of the wind power industry and boost local economic development. In addition, it will help Australia reach the goal set for renewable energy by 2020.

The Cattle Hill Wind Power Plant project is the first "pilot project" of the company for developing renewable energy in a developed country. It is of great significance in that it creates a wonderful opportunity for the company to adapt to a foreign market, make use of international capital and get familiar with the business rules of a developed country's power sector.
